Website of rescue: www.londonwildcaretrust.co.uk/pets

Where rescue is based (Town, County): Beddington, London Borough of Sutton

Where rescue rehome to: Nationwide, if a suitable home comes forward, though local preferred.

Type of animal(s) Rescue deals with: We started out purely as a wildlife rescue, but began taking in domestic animals after people started dumping them on our doorstep. We are a small rescue so generally are unable to take hand-ins from members of the public. We always have several cats and rabbits, and a small number of dogs.

Is Rescue breed specific? Please explain either way: No, we take in all abandoned dogs from the borough.

Do you neuter all animals before leaving for forever homes where applicable? Please explain either way: Yes, but if it cannot be carried out while the animal is in our care we provide a voucher and require proof from the vet to ensure it has been done at the appropriate time.

Do you always home check?: Yes, though we will accept home checks from other reputable organisations.

If applicable do you always vaccinate?: Yes

If applicable do you always worm/flea treat?: Yes

If applicable do you microchip?: Yes

Do you provide insurance when rehoming to new owners?: Two weeks

Will you always take the animal back no matter what? If not please explain under what circumstances etc: Yes

Rough ‘donation’ guide per animal, please also explain what this involves: We charge £90 for cats (£60 if unneutered) and £80 for rabbits (£50 if unneutered). The donation for dogs depends on their size, since this affects the cost of neutering, though a medium-sized dog would be £150. We charge these donations to attempt to cover the costs incurred and it allows us to continue to help abandoned animals.
